“Acceptance…..Learning to love ourselves….As we are”

This production will not only be entertaining but relatable.

Deja Vu Theatre’s productions are always thought provoking and enlightening. This production will address some of the issues we face on a daily basis whether it has to do with our children, wives, husbands or friends. We as a people have to start accepting and loving ourselves, the way God made us.
I was inspired to present this play due to the enormous disconnect that I feel our community and our children have about their appearance. The dark skin, the kinky hair, the thick lips, all the things that make us who we are. This play should allow families to get together and discuss just how special and powerful we are as a people. We are unique in many aspects, including our thought process, spirituality and culture.

Déjà Vu Theatre Productions Inc. is a Not-for Profit Corporation formed in April 2002 in Fort Lauderdale. Sharon Cummings is founder and president of this Caribbean/American-infused theater company. Her dream is to unite the Caribbean community and its non-Caribbean friends in one cause: to form a local theatre company that offers an outlet for young people to showcase their talents. Good theatre requires discipline, commitment, and creativity, and it serves as a welcomed conduit that can save young people from being classified as “Kids at Risk.”
