Rachel R. Chang
ReggaeFit is a creative innovation in fitness, founded in 2012, that incorporates dance with high-energy aerobics, weights, flags, mats, and more – all to the best reggae and Soca tunes! With the international acclaim of these Caribbean rhythms, we see persons from very diverse backgrounds, reminiscent of Jamaica’s motto – out of many, one people.
ReggaeFit is the brainchild of professionally-trained dance instructor, Rachel Chang, who has over 30 years experience in dance fitness and choreography between Jamaica, Florida, and California. Having kept fit throughout her life by her own style of Caribbean dance (even after bearing two children), Rachel wanted to share her unique regimen with a world battling high rates of obesity, medical issues, and low self-esteem. Rachel felt ReggaeFit would help put clients on the path to a healthier lifestyle.
Over 3,000 registered in the first year alone. ReggaeFit helped get clients off their blood pressure medication within a two week period, plus received countless testimonials of weight loss and increased self-confidence.
Since its inception, ReggaeFit has continued to grow and evolve, now offering a variety of ReggaeFit options via group instruction, personal training, corporate accounts, event bookings, and diet planning. Both Rachel and co-owner, Andre Senior, pride themselves on a results-oriented, quality product with an experienced staff.
According to Mr. Jeff Lacher, Group Exercise Coordinator at American Express Headquarters in Plantation, Florida, “ReggaeFit provides a fun and welcoming atmosphere for employees that combines aerobics, light weight training, and Caribbean dance moves. The instructor’s energy and passion for their work is contagious. They tailor their classes to fit all levels. The instructors have always been punctual and professional with our employees.”
